Failing Libraries? D:

Public libraries are in a big crisis! In a time where technological advances can replace hard copies, libraries are slowly finding themselves hard to stay in business. The availability of books and references online is making it convenient for many people to just stay home and read. E-book readers are also growing rapidly in popularity. Not only is technology effecting libraries, but the economy is as well. Lack of government funding is forcing many libraries to lay off workers or close down libraries.
I think this change in society is a very negative one. Libraries can be very positive environments for many people and they provide free access to books, internet access, and other sources of references. For these reasons, I believe that they need to be saved. One way would be to promote libraries more and attempt to get donations from local citizens.
I think education would be greatly affected by the loss of libraries, and the government needs to recognize these problems and help fix it. I also think the libraries need to offer more resources if possible in order to attract more people. Hopefully this blog post will encourage you guys to attempt to do something or at least visit the library!
Save the libraries guys! :D
