The Child by Tiger

A few days ago, I read a story called "The Child by Tiger" by Thomas Wolfe. It was a really good story, and I felt that it was a lot more interesting than another story I read called "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connel.

Throughout The Child by Tiger, I felt drawn in at all times. The book was very interesting to me and I found myself unable to stop reading it after I had begun to do so. One reason I think I like the book is because of the innocence of Randy Shepperton and the narrator. They are shown to be so innocent, and believe that Dick is peaceful despite having a loaded weapon in his room. I felt very bad for the narrator and Randy when Dick is found out to be a killer. They adored him and had learned to do several things from him in the past, yet his legacy was stained after he committed his horrible crimes.
Another curious thing about the story is that the readers never learn what exactly Dick did or if he did it all. We are given many possible stories toward the end of the book, and the narrator leads us to believe that he and Randy know what truly happens. I like that the author did this because it leaves us with an open ending that leaves the reader to interpret what could have happened in their own way.
The ending to the story was great in my opinion, I felt that the words used to describe Dick were wonderful and tied his personalities together.
"He was night's child and partner, a token of the other side of man's dark soul, a symbol of those things that pass by darkness and that still remain, a symbol of evil man's innocence, and the token of his misery, a projection of his own unfathomed quality, a friend, a brother and a mortal enemy, an unknown demon, two worlds together-a tiger and a child.

I think this story was a great read, and I recommend everyone to read it if they haven't already!

About This Blog!

In this blog, I will be talking about my experiences of my AP Senior English class. The main thing I will be talking about will be about the stories I have read, but other things may pop up from time to time! I hope you enjoy reading about my views on not only the classes, but the course as time goes on. I hope that my blog will be able to help you in many different ways, such as providing a different point of view and analysis on some of the stories that are being read. That being said, I would love for you guys to give me any feedback by leaving comments in any of my future blog posts. I also plan on visiting other blogs and hopefully I will learn new things that I could have missed or not even thought of. Let's make this a wonderful experience! Thanks and I hope you come back for more!

Until next time!
